- Expanding presence in Eastern Europe
Kleinostheim – 03.12.2015. UTA Rumania opened for business in Bucharest in November. Initially five members of staff will be responsible for UTA Card system sales in Rumania.
“The Rumanian market has great potential and a large number of companies involved in transporting goods and passengers, both nationally and internationally. That’s why for us, one of Europe’s leading fuel and service card providers, it was a logical next step to massively expand our activities in Rumania. Thanks to our collaboration with Edenred, which became a 34 per cent UTA shareholder in 2014, we have now gained a foothold in Rumania and can draw on their expertise there,” explained Volker Huber, CEO at UTA.
UTA has more than 700 affiliated service stations in Rumania. These include the brands Lukoil, MOL, OMV and Gazprom, as well as a number of independent stations. UTA’s network includes over 52,000 service stations in 40 countries throughout Europe.
