- 2,000 free meals available at 10 Sarni motorway catering points across Italy
- The We Care for You initiative is part of Edenred Group’s More than Ever relief plan
Verona, Italy - UTA, a leading provider of fuel and service cards in Europe, is providing 2,000 free meals to professional drivers in Italy at 10 Sarni catering points across the country. The Sarni cafes are conveniently located on motorways in Northern, Central and Southern Italy, enabling drivers to stop for a quick meal before continuing on their route.
Participating Sarni locations can be found here or on the Italian UTA Facebook page.
“We’ve long supported our UTA customers whatever the circumstances and are proud to sup-port drivers during the pandemic,” says Francesco Liguori, UTA Country Manager in Italy. “Through our free meals, we’re thanking drivers for putting their health at risk to support the needs of the Italian population.”
Italy has been severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic, but its transportation sector has remained operational, with working shifts for drivers becoming more challenging in part due to the closure of service areas and restaurants along motorways.
UTA enacts Europe-wide coronavirus relief measures
UTA’s We Care for You initiative for professional drivers is part of Edenred Group’s More than Ever aid campaign. In addition to support for drivers in Italy, UTA is providing drivers in Ger-many, Austria, Spain, France and Poland with protective masks, disinfectant, free meals, and shower facilities in cooperation with motorway service areas and transport associations. The activities are designed to assist drivers and make them more aware of the public’s apprecia-tion for their work.
