  • Agreement sees Finland added to UTA's natural gas acceptance network
  • UTA Edenred now offers LNG in 12 countries and CNG in 21 countries across Europe
  • UTA Edenred customers can now access over 50% of Europe’s public LNG stations

Kleinostheim, Germany – UTA Edenred, a leading mobility service provider in Europe and an Edenred company, is expanding its network of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Scandinavia through a partnership with Gasum Ltd., a leading player in the Nordic gas sector and biogas expert. The partnership provides UTA Edenred customers with access to 17 Gasum stations in Sweden and 39 sites in Finland – with the latter marking the addition of Finland to UTA's European LNG and CNG acceptance network.

UTA's natural gas acceptance network now comprises more than 250 LNG stations in 12 countries and over 1,400 CNG stations in 21 countries across Europe.

Carsten Bettermann, CEO of UTA Edenred, says: "We’re constantly striving to expand our acceptance network through new partnerships to serve our customers in the best possible way, regardless of the fuel and energy types they use for their mobility. The agreement with Gasum significantly expands our alternative fuel offering across Scandinavia and enables us to serve customers in Finland with LNG and CNG for the first time."

"We’re pleased to join UTA's acceptance network and to welcome drivers with UTA cards at Gasum stations," says Juho Kurra, Business Development Manager Traffic at Gasum. "The partnership provides greater flexibility for transport companies to purchase alternative fuels and supports our vision to enable low-emissions mobility for European logistics companies."

Biogas and liquefied biogas as valuable options in the face of a natural gas shortage
Gasum is a leading Nordic gas supplier with extensive expertise in biogas and biodegradable waste fractions. The company is constantly expanding its range of LNG/LBG and CNG/CBG filling stations, providing an alternative to diesel and other conventional fuels. In addition to LNG and CNG, all Gasum stations offer biogas (CBG) and liquefied biogas (LBG). As these are produced from various types of organic waste, they offer a valuable alternative in the face of a natural gas shortage caused by the Ukraine crisis.
