  • Support for additional toll contexts in development

Kleinostheim, Germany – UTA Edenred, a leading mobility service provider in Europe and an Edenred company, has extended its interoperable UTA One® next toll box to Slovakia. The 4G-compatible on-board unit (OBU) for the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) now covers 18 toll contexts in 16 European countries.
UTA Edenred customers can activate the Slovakian toll context in the UTA Service Center. It will then be installed as an over-the-air update on the OBU.

Olaf Schneider, Director Tolls & Business Services at UTA Edenred, says: "UTA One next is a smart solution for the fast and efficient processing of tolls in Europe. We’re constantly expanding its features and capabilities and adding new toll contexts to make customers’ mobility even easier."

With 18 toll contexts in 16 countries, UTA One next is the most comprehensive EETS solution on the market. In addition to tolls in Slovakia, UTA One next also supports toll systems in Belgium (including Liefkenshoektunnel), Germany, France, Italy (including Caronte ferries), Austria, Poland (A4, Katowice - Krakow and e-TOLL route network), Hungary, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Norway (including ferries, bridges, tunnels and motorways), Sweden (bridges and ferries), Denmark (bridges and ferries) and Switzerland (including Liechtenstein). Additional support for the toll systems in Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic and Denmark (road network) is in development.

UTA One next can be used in vehicles weighing 3.5 tonnes or more. This makes the OBU ideal for international companies affected by the German toll extension to vehicles over 3.5 tonnes that was introduced on 1 July.
