Toll changes for the first half of 2026

Alle Informationen zum europäischen Mautsystem für die erste Jahreshälfte 2026 finden Sie hier.

Serbia – Changes from 1 April 2026

From 1 April 2026, Category IV vehicles in Serbia will be required to use an electronic toll device (TAG/OBU). Please note: All TAGs purchased with a UTA Card are pre-installed for the Serbian toll network, including the new barrier-free sections and Belgrade Ring, and do not need to be re-registered. Please do not register your TAGs on third-party platforms such as ‘T4A’ and do not link any credit cards as this will result in you being blocked by the Serbian Putevi system and having to obtain a new TAG.

Netherlands – Switch to km-based tolls from 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, the Netherlands will switch from the Eurovignette system to a kilometre-based toll using an on-board unit (OBU). We offer three OBU options. To learn more, and for help selecting the right solution for your business, please click here.

2G network shutdown in France

More countries are switching their toll systems to the 4G network to ensure better network stability. Following Switzerland, France plans to switch off its 2G network at the end of 2026. After that, toll devices such as UTA One can no longer be used for toll collection in the country.

We recommend that you equip your fleet with a 4G EETS OBU today to ensure you can travel uninterrupted European roads. We offer multiple OBU options – feel free to contact us so that we can help you identify the right OBU for your fleet.

New CO₂ surcharge on toll rates in Flanders from 1 July 2026

From 1 July 2026, an emissions surcharge based on vehicle CO₂ emissions will be introduced on toll rates in Flanders. The aim of this measure is to promote environmentally friendly transportation and reduce road traffic emissions.

For transportation companies, this means that future toll rates in Flanders will be based on emissions. To ensure compliance, we suggest you keep your vehicle data up to date and factor the new rates into your financial planning.

The Brussels and Wallonia regions will follow suit in January 2027 by introducing CO₂ surcharges on toll rates.

If you have any questions regarding implementation and the impact on your fleet, please contact your UTA representative.
