Convenient toll settlement in Germany
In Germany , an HGV toll is collected on domestic and foreign vehicles and vehicle combinations of road haulage weighing ≥ 7.5 metric tonnes. From 01/07/2024, the toll will be extended to vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes. More information can be found here. An on-board unit (OBU) from the German toll operator Toll Collect enables the settlement of motorway and trunk road tolls. The amount of the toll is based on distance travelled and a toll rate in eurocents per kilometre. It incorporates costs incurred relating to CO2 emissions, air pollution, noise pollution and infrastructure.
The fees for toll routes in Germany are handled by UTA. Register your vehicles in the UTA Service Center. Then, arrange an appointment with your garage to have the relevant Toll Collect OBU installed.
Toll2Go: Now including Austrian toll settlement
In addition to toll routes in Germany, you can use the Toll Collect OBU to pay for Austrian tolls . To use this service, submit an application to ASFINAG, the Austrian toll operator, in the SelfCare Portal. Once your application is approved, the Toll Collect box will be activated and unlocked by Toll Collect. Since contractual information is stored on your OBU, you don’t need to visit a GO sales location.
If your vehicle was equipped with an Austrian GO-Box , this must be returned to ASFINAG to avoid duplicate toll charges. Exchanging a GO-Box for the Toll Collect OBU is free of charge!

Vehicles ≥ 7,5 t
The Toll Collect DIN Shaft OBU is designed for vehicles ≥ 7.5 t.
Toll Collect offers the Windshield OBU for vehicles weighing between > 3.5 t and < 7.5 t. Both devices can be used for all weight classes.
How can I order an OBU?

How long does it take to deliver an OBU?
What do the OBUs cost?
While there are no fees for the OBUs, they remain the property of Toll Collect. Costs are only incurred for the installation and removal of an OBU.
How do I install my OBU?
Depending on the model, the OBU is installed in the DIN slot on the dashboard of your vehicle or on the windscreen. Installation must be carried out by a service partner.
