UTA CardLock is a security feature that locks a fuel card by default, minimising the risk of misuse and fraud that could lead to financial loss. To make a transaction, the driver simply activates the card via the UTA Edenred Drive app. UTA CardLock is available for iOS and Android smartphones. Alternatively, the fleet manager can activate the card via the UTA Service Center where they have full visibility and control over transactions. After 60 minutes, the card automatically locks again, providing continued protection.

UTA Transaction Notification
With the low-cost UTA Transaction Notification service, you can quickly see if your UTA fuel and service card has been misused.
The service sends relevant information to you via email or SMS immediately once a transaction has been completed (excluding toll and offline transactions). This gives you full control, enabling you to act immediately if you spot anything suspicious.
Activate UTA Transaction Notification today in the UTA Service Center.

Preventing Fuel Card Fraud: tips for fleet managers
1. Reporting suspicious behaviour or incidents
In the event of attempted fraud, card loss or PIN misuse, employers should report the incident to the authorities immediately—both in the country where it occurred and at the company’s headquarters. This facilitates faster cross-border cooperation between authorities.
2. Checking Transactions
Employers should promptly review invoices and receipts to ensure all transactions are legitimate. In addition, fuel consumption reports for each vehicle should be regularly monitored to identify cases of excessive fuel usage.

3. Education drivers
Employers should clearly inform drivers of their personal responsibility and the legal consequences of fuel card misuse. A signed declaration confirming their understanding of these rules is strongly recommended.
Preventing Fuel Card Fraud: tips for drivers
Despite all efforts by card issuers to protect their customers, fuel card users themselves must also take an active role by ensuring their cards are stored securely and misuse is proactively prevented. Companies which utilise fuel cards should keep the following in mind:

1. PIN safety
Memorise your PIN and never share it. Do not write it down, store it digitally or disclose it. Always shield the keypad when entering your PIN to prevent it from being seen.
2. Card safety
Drivers should never leave their card unattended in the cab of
their vehicle or on company premises. Doing so increases the chances of it being unknowingly copied.
3. Staying vigilant
Be alert for signs of tampering at fuel pumps – especially in remote locations. Use well-monitored pumps close to the cashier area whenever possible. Make payments in-store personally and stay aware of your surroundings.
